The Boston College women’s volleyball team is now 19-9 overall and 10-5 in the ACC thanks to a 3-2 victory over Wake Forest tonight. This is the Eagles’ best record since 2004 and second best record ever, and there are still 3 regular season games remaining.

Today’s game was fairly back and forth, with Wake Forest winning the first set 25-18, BC winning the second set 25-20, Wake winning the third set 25-16, and BC winning the fourth set 25-18 and the tiebreaker 15-8. The Demon Deacons led overall with 73 points, 57 kills, and 13 blocks, while BC led with 7 aces and 68 digs.

Jane DeJarld led all players with 3 aces and also picked up 25 assists and 13 digs, Jewel Strawberry led the team with 12 kills, and Torey Baum picked up a team-leading 20 digs.

The Eagles remaining games this season are against Virginia, Syracuse, and NC State. BC has already defeated Virginia and and NC State this season and lost a close 3-2 match to Syracuse earlier this month, so there is a really decent chance this team will at least match their program best 20 wins this year, in Coach Kennedy’s second season as head coach.
