Just four minutes into the match, Kayla Jennings scored the first goal of the night with a header off a cross from her sister Jillian Jennings. The 1-0 score held until about twelve minutes into the second half when Wake Forest’s Hulda Arnarsdottir snagged the equalizer with a shot just inside the post. In the 78’, BC earned their second goal when a rebound from Olivia Vaugh’s shot was blocked but the picked up by Francesca Venezia to tap past the down Wake goalie. Five minutes later, the Demon Deacons even it up again with Estelle Laurier’s left footer over Allie Augur’s head.
Keeping with the pattern, the Eagles scored the next goal when Gianna Mitchell finished a play off a corner and buried the ball into the far corner. With only two minutes left to play, Wake Forest manages to tie it up for the third time with a header from Ryanne Brown. Neither team would score in the following two overtimes so the score would remain a draw at 3-3. This afternoon’s game was also the senior game to honor Jenna Bike, Gaby Carreiro, Kayla Jennings, Erin Convery, Emily Langenderfer, Francesca Venezia, Jade Ruiters, and Olivia Vaugh. Two of the seniors scored goals tonight, and Allie Augur had six goals by the end of the match. Boston College will stay on the Heights this week to host North Carolina this Thursday, Oct. 17 at 7pm.
