Game Recap: Boston College Men’s Soccer vs. Notre Dame

Gasson Hall

For the third time in as many games, Boston College soccer lost to a ranked conference foe by a single goal. This time, BC made the trip to South Bend, Indiana, to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

In a quiet game that totaled only two shots on goal, both by the Irish, both teams went into the half with goose eggs. In the 49th minute, Notre Dame was able to get the game’s lone goal from Aiden McFadden, who got past the Eagles’ defense and slotted his shot right past Antonio Chavez Borelli.

Despite the lack of offense in the game, these two rivals combined for 27 goals and 12 corner kicks. Despite pushing for an equalizer at the end of the Lasse Lehmann was booked with a red card, so the Eagles had to play a man down for the final few minutes of the game.

The Eagles will return home to Newton for a matchup with the NC State Wolfpack on Friday night.
