Defensive End Wyatt Ray Named Walter Camp National Player Of The Week

A huge honor for a star of the defense

The honors keep coming for the Boston College Eagles as senior defensive end Wyatt Ray was named Walter Camp National Player Of The Week for defense. AJ Dillon won the award for offense last year for his performance against Louisville.

Ray was electric against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons finishing the game with four sacks, including big ones down the stretch that sealed the game for BC. With this performance, Ray became the national sack leader.

This is an incredible honor for a player who has seen his draft stock soar over the first three games of the season. When the season started, Ray wasn’t a name that was expected to be a star this year, but he has certainly risen to the occasion. He is a nimble and strong end who has used more of a speed rush to overwhelm offensive linemen.

Congratulations to Wyatt! The #23 ranked Boston College Eagles take on the Purdue Boilermakers on Saturday at noon.
