Boston College Soccer adds Bob Thompson as Associate Head Coach

BC Heights

Three years removed from the national quarterfinals, Boston College’s men’s soccer team will attempt to return and exceed those results. To help get them there, head coach Ed Kelly added former player Bob Thompson as his associate head coach for the 2018 season. During his time as a student-athlete on the Heights, Thompson was a member of three NCAA tournament teams, including a quarterfinal team of his own, and was a member of the team that set a school record with 18 wins in 2002.

Since graduating from BC, Thompson has had extensive coaching experience, which includes five years as an assistant at Northeastern, two seasons as an assistant and recruiting coordinator for Tufts University, another two as an assistant and recruiting coordinator at BC, and then finally, four years at UMass-Lowell, three as an assistant and one as an associate head coach. Thompson brings recruiting experience to the BC sideline as the Eagles try to compete in the ever challenging ACC. Welcome back to the Heights, Bob!
