Boston College Women’s Soccer Remains Perfect with Win Over UConn

Eagles top the Huskies 2-0

The women’s soccer team improved to 4-0 on the season with another shutout win over UConn today. Sophomore Sam Coffey was responsible for all of the scoring, with two goals on five shots. She broke through at 33:15 with a free kick converted for her second goal of the season. Her second goal broke the game open in the second period off a cross pass from Riley Lochhead at 75:05. This would be enough to put the Huskies away with a final score of 2-0.

BC keeper Alexis Bryant had her third consecutive shutout for the Eagles with three saves this afternoon against the Huskies. Coffey now leads the Eagles in scoring, with three goals and four assists on the season. The Eagles outshot UConn 13-8, but also lead the Huskies in fouls and offside calls.

The Eagles will next take on Stony Brook at 5PM on Wednesday and Texas Tech at 7PM on Saturday, both on Newton Campus with free admission.
