It has been a while since the Boston College Eagles got any sort of love from a preseason poll. That all changed today as the first Coaches Poll was released, and the Eagles actually got some votes! The poll was released today on CBS Sports.com, and is chosen by 65 head coaches (Steve Addazio is not one of those). While they didn’t make the Top 25, the Eagles received 25 votes, enough for 33rd in the poll. For a team that only went 7-6 last year, that shows that many coaches believe that this team is a fringe Top 25 team.
Also in the Top 25 are future BC opponents the Clemson Tigers (2), the Miami Hurricanes (8), the Virginia Tech Hokies (17), Florida State Seminoles? (19). NC State and Louisville also received votes.
