After playing his first full NHL season with the New Jersey Devils, fan favorite Brian Gibbons is headed to Anaheim on a one-year, $1 million contract with the Ducks.

Gibbons, who graduated from Boston College in 2011, is the type of player that went under the radar but that Eagles fans aren’t surprised to see succeeding in the pros. A chippy forward with offensive skills, he scored 50+ points in both of his final seasons at BC.

Gibbons spent the first 3 years of his professional career in the Pittsburgh Penguins organization. He then spent a season with the Blue Jackets organization, an season with the Hartford Wolfpack, and 2 seasons with the New Jersey Devils organization. Gibbons spent his first season with New Jersey playing in the AHL, where he recorded 36 points in 72 games. Last season was his first full NHL season and he scored 26 points in just 56 games. Gibbons was also a member of Team USA during the 2018 World Championship.
