Following the New York Islanders prospect camp, Oliver Wahlstrom has re-confirmed his plans to play hockey at Boston College in the fall. Wahlstrom was chosen by the Islanders in the first round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft with the 11th overall pick. He is a New England native and has spent the past 2 seasons playing for the USNTDP.
Wahlstrom, who stands at 6’1, is known for his ability to create scoring chances for himself and his teammates. This past season he led the U.S. National U18 Team with 94 points, 48 goals, and 46 assists. His teammates on that squad include fellow BC commits Patrick Giles, Adam Samuelsson, Cam York, and Spencer Knight. BC commit Matthew Boldy also played 1 game to the U18 Team but spent most of the season with the U17 Team.
Wahlstrom should give the Eagles a needed offensive spark this year, helping them rebound from a disappointing 2017-18 campaign.
