BC got some sweet revenge in 2017, just a year removed from Lamar Jackson blasting the Boston College Eagles out of Alumni Stadium. Just a week after Boston College had one of their most disappointing outputs of the season against the Virginia Tech Hokies, and Addazio’s infamous “It will come together and it will be beautiful”, it came together, and it was beautiful.
This year the game is down in Louisville, with no Lamar Jackson threatening BC’s defense. It is also no longer the Papa John’s Stadium, the name changed to Cardinal Stadium, after a public controversy forced the spokesmen and owner to step down from the company. Jawon Pass should be the starting quarterback going into the season, and he looks to be a dangerous dual threat QB that could thrive in Bobby Petrino’s system. On the defensive side of the ball, Petrino loaded up with JUCO defenders, and should bring a solid front and linebacking crew against the Eagles.
Boston College was projected by the media to finish ahead of the Louisville Cardinals this season, but this could be a tough game for the Eagles. This time it will be at home, but against a tough defense, they are going to need to bring their A Game if they want to make it two in a row against UL. This week we will be reviewing BC and Louisville’s recent history, talking to Mark Ennis of ESPN Louisville about the Cardinals team, and looking at what the Eagles have to do to leave Kentucky with a W. Make sure to return to BCI all week for info and opinions on this matchup.
