Boston College gave tours to the media today to show off their new indoor practice facility. The new building located right next to Alumni Stadium, on the site of the old Shea Field will be called the Fish Fieldhouse, named after donors John and Cyndy Fish.
“The Fish Field House is a game-changer for BC Athletics,” said Jarmond. “It will provide a new state-of-the-art facility adjacent to Alumni Stadium and Conte Forum where our student- athletes will be able to train indoors year-round. This new addition will help BC football and all of our coaches in their recruitment efforts, and put BC on par with the other ACC schools, all of which have made similar investments in indoor facilities.”
The new practice facility will open just in time for summer practices that begin on August 3rd. This is a huge achievement for Boston College, as their facilities have always been near the bottom of the ACC. No more bubble, and a dedicated facility for the football program should certainly improve strength and conditioning, practice conditions, and help with recruiting. We will provide more information on the Fish Fieldhouse as it is released.
