The Boston College men’s basketball representative in the 2018 BCI Hall of Fame is none other than Jared Dudley. The former Eagle was a four year letter-winner on the Heights, which included a trip to the Sweet 16 in 2006 and an ACC Player of the Year award in 2007.
Dudley was an impact player from the moment he walked into Conte Forum, never averaging less than 10 points per game during his career. His best individual season came in 2007, when he averaged 19 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, but he also had seasons of 16 and 6, 16 and 7, and 12 and 6. One of the most feared defenders and rebounders in the ACC at the time, Dudley was a star and had Eagle fans excited for basketball on the Heights!
After his senior year, Jared was drafted number 22 overall by the Charlotte Hornets in the 2007 NBA draft. In his 12 NBA seasons, Dudley has played for five different franchises, including the Hornets, Suns, Clippers, Bucks, and Wizards and is currently in his second stint with the Suns. His best stint in the league came in his first time in Phoenix, where he averaged better than ten points per game from 2010-2013 and reached the Western Conference Finals in 2010.
Jared has been a big proponent of BC hoops via his twitter page and has made time to come back to BC to visit with the team and has become very friendly with new AD Martin Jarmond on the social media site in recent months.
Congrats, Jared!
