Jack McBain has been drafted by the Minnesota with the 63rd overall pick in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. McBain will be a freshman at Boston College in the fall.
McBain, a 6’3 center from Toronto, is known for his stick-handling abilities. He isn’t the quickest skater though, so BC will be a good fit for him. The Eagles staff knows how to help bigger players improve their speed. In addition to excelling on offense, McBain is able to use his long reach to force turnovers. He is the type of player that should spend 4 years at BC, but could end up being a 3 year guy.
Prior to the draft, analysts had McBain going late in the second round.
McBain is the son of Andrew McBain, who played 10 seasons in the NHL after being drafted 8th overall in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft by the Winnipeg Jets.
