BC basketball received huge news yesterday when it was confirmed that point guard Ky Bowman would be withdrawing from the NBA Draft and returning for his junior season. Could even bigger news be coming next?
BCI has confirmed the news first reported by Adam Zagoria that Auburn transfer Mustapha Heron is expected to visit the Heights this weekend. Heron is considered the prize transfer recruit of this offseason and reports say that he is looking to play closer to his ill mother in Connecticut. Because of that situation, Heron (a junior) could be eligible for a hardship waiver and would not have to sit out this season. Heron was one of the best players on Auburn’s nationally ranked team last year averaging 16.4 ppg and 5.3 rpg.
Heron will be visiting St. John’s today and BC on Saturday. Reportedly BC assistant Scott Spinelli and Chris Cheeks are both recruiting Heron which makes it clear he is a top priority for BC.
