It has become a yearly tradition here at BC Interruption to read the Athlon Sports weekly preseason posts and write posts about the lack of respect the Boston College Eagles get. This will not be one of those posts.
Earlier in this week, Athlon named their pre-season All-ACC team, and wait for it...Boston College had the most 1st representatives....on offense. This seems surreal, but yes, Athlon had three Eagles on 1st team on offense, and nine players overall. Running back A.J. Dillon, tight end Tommy Sweeney and offensive lineman Chris Lindstrom made the first team. Michael Walker made the first team on special teams, Lukas Denis first team defense, Zach Allen second team defense (definitely a snub), and safety Will Harris, center Ben Petrula, and Connor Strachan made the fourth team.
This is a huge jump for Boston College, who only had four members on Athlon’s list last year. Reading online, there are a bunch of other sport writers like David Hale of ESPN and even an FSU blog that have started showing respect for BC. Let’s hope it is well earned.
Now back to our regularly scheduled event of not caring about preseason magazines and publications.
