Boston College basketball fans got the news they were praying they would never get, as reports came out from multiple outlets this evening that Jerome Robinson officially will not be returning next year and will stay in the NBA Draft.
Sources: Boston College junior Jerome Robinson has decided to stay in the 2018 NBA draft, signing with CAA Sports. Robinson, a 6-foot-6 scorer, averaged 24 points in ACC this past season.

(just as a note this hasn’t been officially confirmed by Robinson or the school yet)
There was always a good chance that the junior Robinson who averaged 20.7 points for the Eagles would stay in the draft, but with most mocks having him as a fringe first rounder it seemed like another year at the Heights was in the books. Hopefully he is getting good advice, as the last Eagle to leave early for the NBA was Olivier Hanlon and he ended up a 2nd round pick, and ended up in Europe.
The next ball to watch is Ky Bowman. Earlier today he cryptically tweeted that “everything is going to change in the next 24 hours”. Losing both Bowman and Robinson would be a huge blow to the Eagles.
Keep your fingers crossed about Bowman.
While selfishly I wanted Jerome Robinson to stay here another year to see if BC could make it back to the tournament again, I understand why he is leaving. If you have an opportunity to live your dream you have to take it, and as fans we should all wish him the best.
Still this stings.
