Boston College Women’s Soccer Names 2018 Captains

Gaby Carreiro and Kayla Jennings will lead the team next season

Earlier this week, Boston College women’s soccer coach Alison Foley announced that Gaby Carreiro and Kayla Jennings (an incoming senior and redshirt junior respectively) will take on captain duties for the squad next year.

Carreiro, a midfielder, missed the 2017 due to injury. She has 19 career points over 2 seasons of play with the Eagles. While sidelined in 2017, Carreiro was instrumental in working with Lily Premo, a child that the team “adopted” last year. Lily received the Most Inspirational Award from the women’s soccer program at the end of this past season.

Jennings is a two-year starter who transferred to Boston College from Maryland. Jennings has 10 career points for the Eagles and recorded 2 assists last season. She did not play during her season with Maryland, so she was eligible to compete in her first season with the Eagles.

Congrats to Gaby and Kayla! We’re looking forward to watching this team that has so much young talent next season.
