TENNIS
Both the men’s and women’s tennis teams earned a weekend split against ACC opponents, with the men finally breaking a long losing streak that had lasted for more than a month. The men’s team fell 6-1 to Florida State on Thursday before bouncing back for their first ACC win of the season against Miami. The 4-3 win came on the backs of Derek Austin, Chris Grasel, Marcus Noby, and Sean Mullins, all of whom won singles matches to lead the Eagles to victory. The win will hopefully give BC some momentum as they take on Wake Forest and Georgia Tech this weekend in their last two matches of regular season play.
The women’s team had a reverse of the men’s weekend, winning their Friday match with Notre Dame 4-3 before falling to Georgia Tech 6-1 on Sunday. Asiya Dair, Kylie Wilcox, and Elene Tsokilaud won singles victories for BC in their win over Notre Dame. They Eagles close out regular season play against Wake Forest on Friday.
GOLF
The men’s golf team took first place in their final regular season tournament of the season, finishing ahead of 11 other teams at the Clemson Invitational. BC finished with a combined score of 866 on the weekend, good for a +2 and a two shot victory over host Clemson. Christian Cavaliere was the top Eagle for the weekend, shooting a -6 and placing fourth among all competitors. The win was BC’s first on the season and marks the end of regular season play for the Eagles. The ACC Championship will be held in North Carolina this weekend.
ROWING
The Eagles competed in the Knecht Cup in New Jersey over the weekend, with the second varsity eight taking first place in their race in a photo finish. The Eagles’ boat crossed the line just .04 seconds ahead of Penn after a race that was close throughout to earn the win. The first varsity eight boat took second to Penn in a close race of their own while the third varsity eight finished second to Connecticut. The varsity four took home the silver as well while the second varsity four finished in fourth. Up next for BC is the Resolute Cup, their second to last race before the ACC Championships.
