The Boston College lacrosse team announced today that, as we expected, Kenzie Kent will be redshirting and taking this season off from lacrosse. Kent, who is a senior this year, has spent the past 3 seasons playing ice hockey and joining the lacrosse team at the conclusion of the hockey season. She is a lacrosse star and scored 77 points in just 13 games last season. She was named to this year’s Tewaaraton Award list earlier this season despite not having played a game - that’s how good she is.
Kent will return to the BC women’s lacrosse team in 2019 as a grad student to play a full season. She is not the first BC women’s hockey player to play a different sport as a grad student - Andie Anastos played women’s basketball this season after playing 4 years of ice hockey.
With Sam Apuzzo, Elizabeth Miller, Dempsey Arsenault, and goaltender Lauren Daly all returning as seniors next season, Kent is poised to add even more talent to an already phenomenal team.
