Former Boston College Baseball Player Blake Butera Named Manager of the Hudson Valley Renegades

3

On Wednesday, the Tampa Bay Rays announced a slew of managerial changes within their minor league system, including the promotion of former Boston College baseball player Blake Butera to the position of Manager for their Class A Short-Season affiliate Hudson Valley Renegades. This is a tremendous honor, as Butera, only 25 years old, will now be among the youngest managers in professional baseball, having ascended to the position rapidly, as it only took him a year to reach the top spot with Hudson Valley after hanging up his cleats in March of 2017. Butera was a four year starter at Boston College, appearing in 207 games from 2012-2015. He accumulated a career .265 batting average and was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 35th round of the 2015 draft. Congratulations, Blake!
