Boston College Schools as Hogwarts Houses

After yesterday’s video, how could we not??

After we saw the video that BC sent to accepted students, we knew we had to match each of the 4 undergraduate schools to Hogwarts houses. You can find our reasoning below, but we’re sure there will be disagreements so chime in with your thoughts in the comments! (If you aren’t familiar with Harry Potter... sorry not sorry.)

Carroll School of Management - Slytherin

Listen. We’re not saying CSOM is evil. Not all Slytherins are evil! But all Slytherins are ambitious, and we are saying most of you CSOMers are definitely ambitious - you’ve gotta be to want to go to business school Slytherin is also full of confident, achievement-oriented individuals and strong leaders... so yea, that’s CSOM. They work hard and they achieve all of their goals.

Connell School of Nursing - Gryffindor

Gryffindors are brave and have nerves of steel, both of which seem pretty necessary if you want to be a nurse. You’re not taking peoples’ lives into your hands unless you are a very brave and confident person. And you’ve gotta be unflappable to deal with all the blood and guts of nursing. Gryffindors can sometimes be a little reckless. And while they’re all business during clinical hours, in our experience nobody parties like CSON students. Saving lives by day, taking shots at night - sounds like Gryffindor to us.

Lynch School of Education - Hufflepuff

Hufflepuffs are kind, dedicated and tolerant. Nobody would want to work in education unless they possessed all three of those traits in spades. Hufflepuffs are also know for being patient, and if there is one thing you need when teaching children all day it’s patience - lots and lots of patience. For some reason, Hufflepuff is often seen as the “least cool” house, even though Hufflepuffs have all the traits you’d want in a friend. So you’re Hufflepuffs because we love and respect you, Lynch students.

Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences - Ravenclaw

A&S is where you’ll find everyone else. Some students who know what they want to do in life mixed with some students who have no idea. Some students who are getting useful degrees and some students (me!) getting degrees in things like Slavic literature. So it makes sense that A&S is Ravenclaw. Ravenclaws are known for loving learning and for their individuality. Just like A&S kids, Ravenclaws have lots of interests and choose to study what strikes their fancy instead of always picking what might be the most practical.
