The Boston College women’s lacrosse team set a program record today after earning their 11th win in a row and improving to 11-0 on the season. Despite struggling a bit in the first half, the Eagle completed yet another second half comeback and defeated the Bulldogs by a score of 13-9.

Yale opened the scoring in today’s game at 25:51, but Kaileen Hart tied things up just a couple minutes later. Things were scoreless for the next 13 minutes, but Yale broke through to go back up by 1. Dempsey Arsenault made it 2-all shortly thereafter, but a pair of Bulldogs goals game Yale a 4-2 lead. Tess Chandler closed out the first half scoring, getting BC within 1 to start the second.

Yale opened the second half with a free position goal to take a 2 goal lead, but Taylor Walker got a goal right back to get BC within 1. Yale scored a minute later to regain the 2 goal lead, only to have Sam Apuzzo and Hart score in quick succession to tie things up. Yale took what would be their last lead of the game just a minute later, making the score 7-6 Bulldogs.

BC’s next trio of goals all came from Apuzzo, who completed a hat trick plus 1 and put BC on top 9-7. Yale was able to tie things up halfway through the period, but the Bulldogs could not find the net after the 12 minute mark. The Eagles closed out the game with a pair of goals from Arsenault and 1 goal from Hart to complete both of their hat tricks, as well a Walker’s second goal of the game.

In addition to winning the game, BC led in ground balls (21-16), SOG (22-13), and caused turnovers (14-11). Hart led the match with 5 ground balls, while Apuzzo led in caused turnovers (4) and shots (9).
