Boston College Men’s Hockey vs. Northeastern Beanpot Preview

It’s trophy season!

Tonight, the MIH 2018 Beanpot begins. Unfortunately for the Eagles, they have to play the favored (what???) Northeastern Huskies in the first round. The Eagles have played the Huskies twice so far this season, securing a 4-1 victory at Matthews Arena and losing 5-2 at Conte. This will be a tough game, and the Eagles will have to play significantly better than they did against UConn on Friday if they want to win.

(PS - the WIH Beanpot is at Conte this year! Head over tomorrow and a week from tomorrow to see BC women’s hockey compete for yet another trophy!)

Ice Cream of the Game

Many of our other previews feature a beverage of the game, but this year we’ll be picking an ice cream dessert of the game for MIH games. Why, you ask? Because when Jerry York got the BC coaching job, he went out for ice cream sundaes to celebrate.

The Beanpot is stressful. We all deserve a boozy milkshake.

Cat Predictions

Every game, we have the cats of the Ellen M. Gifford Cat Shelter (located right across from BC at 30 Undine Road) predict the outcome of the games. The Gifford Cat Shelter is the oldest cageless, no-kill shelter in the USA.

Gifford alum Yorkie (yes I named one of my cats after Coach York) is predicting a 4-1 Northeastern win :(
