Boston College Men’s Basketball vs. Georgia Tech: Preview and Predictions

They could really use a win in this one

NCAA Basketball: Boston College at Georgia Tech Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

The Eagles are in the midst of their longest losing streak of the season after a tough overtime loss to Virginia Tech. This matchup with Georgia Tech (11-11, 4-5 ACC) is one of a handful of games left on the schedule in which BC will be favored. It is a must win for the Eagles, who will be looking ahead to a tough road game at Notre Dame on Tuesday night.

Keys to the Game

Ky Bowman needs to have a strong game tomorrow afternoon. His scoring has been effective in short spurts, but he has also been prone to forcing up shots and allowing turnovers. The Eagles need Ky to be consistent scorer alongside Jerome Robinson and to limit turnovers against the Yellow Jackets. The defense, particualry closing in on long range jumpers and corner 3s, has been suspect for the Eagles over the past few games. While Georgia Tech does not shoot particularly well from deep, the Eagles cannot allow a season-high scoring night from a Yellow Jacket player.

GT’s Strengths

KenPom ranks Georgia Tech 52nd in defensive efficiency. They are effective in the paint at producing blocks and steals. The Eagles cannot afford sloppy passing because this team will capitalize on those mistakes.

Yellow Jacket Player To Watch Out For

#5 guard Josh Okogie is leading the team averaging 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists per game.
