The date for the 4th Annual Comm Ave Charity Classic was announced today via Twitter. This year’s game will take place at BU’s Walter Brown Arena on August 24, 2018. The game has previously been held in mid-July, so mark your calendars now so you don’t forget!
The Comm Ave Charity Classic was created by Boston College MIH program alums Pat Mullane, Andrew Orpik, and Justin Murphy. It features two teams made up of BC and BU MIH alumni (and some special guests). The game originally started because Mullane, Orpik, and Murphy wanted to raise money to fight ALS in honor of Pete Frates and in memory of Dick Kelley, but has since added the Travis Roy Foundation as a beneficiary. Funds raised are split between the Travis Roy Foundation and Compassionate Care ALS.
Previous games have included superstar alumni from both schools such as Johnny Gaudreau and Charlie McAvoy, as well as fan favorites like Tommy Cross and Danny O’Regan.
