Yesterday the Boston College women’s lacrosse team improved to 5-0 with a 22-12 victory over Brown. Sam Apuzzo, Kaileen Hart, and Dempsey Arsenault each scored 5 goals in the game. With her 5 goals, Hart joined the 100 point club and is now the 25th Eagle in program history to reach that milestone. Meanwhile, Apuzzo currently leads the NCAA with 16 goals so far this season.

The Eagles took an early 2-0 lead in the game with goals from Cara Urbank and Apuzzo, but Brown went on to score 5 unanswered goals to take a 5-2 lead. Hart and Apuzzo scored halfway through the period to get BC within 1, but Brown picked up another goal 3 minutes later to take a 6-4 lead. Proving that this team is full of fight, the Eagles ended the period with 3 straight goals (2 from Jordan Lappin and 1 from Sheila Rietano) to take a 7-6 lead into halftime.

The Eagles opened the second half with another trio of goals, this time scored by Tara Schurr, Hart, and Lappin. BC would maintain a lead for the remainder of the game, ultimately finishing the game with a 22-12 victory.

The Eagles also dominated on draw controls against Brown, with 24 to the Bears 12. Hart’s 11 draw controls in the game are a new program record.
