Losers of two straight, the Boston College Eagles will head south to Coral Gables, Florida with a matchup with the Miami Hurricanes. While they do not appear to be in contention for an NCAA tournament bid, with strong play down the stretch, the Eagles could easily find themselves in the NIT, which would make fans very happy. It starts at Miami this evening.

Keys to the Game

The last time these two teams faced off, Miami did a great job of shooting the three against the Eagles, making 10 of 27 from behind the arc. However, Ky Bowman and Jerome Robinson combined for 53 points to weather the storm and mount a comeback, centered around their defense.

Miami’s Strengths

Miami has one of the deepest backcourts in the country, even without Bruce Brown, a projected first round pick. They still have Ja’Quon Newton, Chris Lykes, and Lonnie Walker to give them strong minutes. If BC can contain the penetration and get a hand in the face of shooters, they would have a much easier time at winning.

Notre Dame Player To Watch

Walker. The freshman is a complete stud. He’s long, he’s athletic, he can shoot it, and he can take it to the rack. His matchup with Jerome Robinson will likely be what decides this one.

Predictions

Matt: Miami 78-69

Toppin: 80-67 Miami

Katie: 85-70 Miami
