Boston College Women’s Basketball Falls to FSU

The Eagles have one game remaining this season

NCAA Womens Basketball: Boston College at Florida State Joe Rondone-USA TODAY Sports

The Boston College women’s basketball team lost another game tonight, falling to Florida State University by a score of 67-39. This was the Eagles’ lowest scoring game all season. BC has only a single game remaining and the best case scenario is that they will beat Syracuse and end the year with a still disappointing 8-21 record. If the Eagles lose to Syracuse, they will have won only 24% of their games this season.

BC had 19 turnovers in tonight’s game and were out-rebounded 34-19. As anyone that has been following this team all year will know, both turnovers and rebounding have been consistent issues for the Eagles.

On offense, the Eagles were led by Andie Anastos, who scored 9 points. While that is a solid showing for Anastos, who has spent the past 4 years training as an elite hockey player, it isn’t easy to win a game if your leading scorer is in the single digits.

Despite a few successes this year, with every loss it becomes more and more difficult to imagine Coach Johnson will be returning next year.
