On Monday, Boston College senior Brian Rapp was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week for his performance in Sunday afternoon’s win against Santa Clara.
The right-handed Rapp struck out ten Santa Clara batters, a new career high, and did not allow a hit in six shutout innings versus the Broncos. This is the first such honor of Rapp’s career and the first time a Boston College pitcher has earned the award since Justin Dunn was named Pitcher of the Week at the end of the 2016 season.
The Eagles took two of three games from Santa Clara on the weekend, winning Friday night by a score of 5-1 and Sunday afternoon, 3-1. Next up, the Eagles will travel to the state of Florida to take on the Boston Red Sox this Thursday, February 22nd, in a yearly exhibition game. After facing the Sox, the Eagles will compete in the Snowbird Classic for the third straight year where they’ll face the University of Minnesota, Indiana University, and Rutgers University.
The contest against the Red Sox will be broadcast locally in the Boston area on NESN and Fox 25, and will be carried on the radio by WEEI. All three games of the Snowbird Classic will be covered via Gametracker.
