The Boston College Eagles women’s basketball team is 0-2 against Notre Dame after losing to the Fighting Irish by a score of 89-55 this afternoon. The Eagles are 7-20 with 2 games remaining in the 2017-18 season.
Taylor Ortlepp, who has shown significant improvement during her sophomore season, led the Eagles with a career high 24 points. Ortlepp also set a career high for 3 pointers, making 6, and senior Katie Quandt grabbed a career high 9 rebounds.
The Eagles had 15 turnovers in today’s game, resulting in 26 points for Notre Dame. Meanwhile, the Fighting Irish allowed only a single basket off a turnover for BC. Where Notre Dame really dominated BC was in accuracy. The Eagles made just 32% of their shots today, while the Fighting Irish shot 57% overall and 61% in the second half.
BC’s remaining games will be extraordinarily tricky to win. Next week, the Eagles will face an FSU team that is 22-4 overall and a 19-7 Syracuse team that has already defeated the Eagles once this season.
