The Boston College women’s lacrosse team improved to 3-0 today after defeating BU by a score of 18-6. The Eagles scored 8 unanswered goals to start the game and BU was unable to catch up. As she did last week, Sam Apuzzo led the Eagles on offense, scoring 4 goals and recording 4 assists. Dempsey Arsenault also had a terrific game and scored a career high 5 goals. Freshman Cara Urbank was the only other Eagle to score multiple goals, tallying a pair.

The Eagles opened the scoring just 40 seconds into the game thanks to Elizabeth Miller, with her second of the season. BC then scored 7 more goals before BU managed to get on the board. The Eagles then scored 4 straight goals and BU closed out the half with a second goal. The second half was more back and forth, with neither team scoring more than 2 goals in a row, but BC continued to dominate.

In addition to Apuzzo, Arsenault, Urbank, and Miller, BC’s goals were scored by: Sheila Rietano, Kaileen Hart, Carly Bell (her first career goal), Ally Mayle, Emma Schurr, and Tess Chandler.

Outside of scoring, Dempsey Arsenault led the team with 5 ground balls and Sheila Rietano led with 4 draw controls. Goaltender Lauren Daly played the entire game for BC and made 8 saves.
