Hours before the start of Thursday night’s game between Boston College and Massachusetts-Amherst, Boston College athletics announced via Twitter that defenseman Luke McInnis will be out for the remainder of the season with an undisclosed lower body injury.

McInnis, a sophomore, has played in all but two games this season, contributing five assists during the 2017-18 campaign. A son of current assistant coach and BC Varsity Club Hall of Fame member Marty McInnis, McInnis is playing in his sophomore year. McInnis is third on the team in blocked shots with 28.
With Kevin Lohan back from his own injury, the Eagles will line up Thursday nightj:

Boston College athletics said in the release that McInnis sustained the injury during the Eagles’ game Monday evening in the Beanpot Consolation game at TD Garden. The Eagles lost that game in overtime 5-4. The Eagles will finish the year without a win out-of-conference during the regular season.
