This afternoon the Boston College women’s basketball game finally won a game, after losing 9 in a row. BC defeated Pittsburgh 72-61 and improved to 7-18 on the season.

The Eagles were led by sophomore Georgia Pineau, who scored a career high 23 points and added 7 rebounds. Milan Bolden-Morris added a trio of threes and picked up a total of 15 points, and Taylor Ortlepp scored 13 points.

BC was down at the end of the first half, but staged a comeback to come away with victory. The Eagles controlled their turnovers more than usual today, which is something that has been a massive problem for them this season. BC also managed to score 19 points off of Pittsburgh turnovers.

Today’s game was the annual Play4Kay game at Conte to raise money and awareness for cancer research. The Eagles wore special uniforms, including practice jerseys featuring the number “15” in honor of program alumna and cancer survivor, Clare Droesch (who was a member of BC’s 2004 Big East Championship team).
