With a victory over Columbia yesterday, Boston College women’s basketball already has the same amount of wins (7) that they had the entirety of last season. The Eagles defeated Columbia by a score of 74-60, after losing to the Lions 68-60 last season. BC won this game on rebounds, out-rebounding the Lions 49-33, but BC still struggled with accuracy and shot just 55.6% from behind the free throw line and just 27.8% for 3 pointers.
The Eagles were led by Georgia Pineau, who had one of her best games of the season with 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Sydney Lowery added 13 points to BC’s total (including a trio of 3 pointers) and Marnelle Garraud and Taylor Soule each contributed 11 points.
The Eagles continue to showcase more depth than they have in years past - BC scored 25 points off the bench against Columbia - the win against Houston has been the only game so far this season where BC has scored under 20 bench points.
The Eagles return to action this Thursday evening when they will face Bryant at Conte. If you aren’t heading to UConn for the men’s hockey game, make sure to attend the WBB game and cheer the Eagles on to their eighth win!
