Boston College lost a quarterback today, as New Jersey freshman Johnny Langan announced that he has transferred to his home school of Rutgers

Losing Langan is not a huge loss for Boston College, he was buried on the quarterback depth chart behind Anthony Brown, EJ Perry, Matt McDonald, Matt Valecce, along with new signee Sam Johnson. He never saw the field at Boston College. According to sources, Langan was going to be moved to another position on the team, but moved on to Rutgers to be a quarterback.
Again, this type of attrition is natural, and something that happens with every football program. Kids who are buried on the depth chart, or asked to switch positions might move somewhere else to see if the grass is greener. And you can’t blame Langan, he is just trying to do what is right for himself. The depth chart at Rutgers seems pretty filled as well as Artur Sitkowski is positioned as the starter, and they have a highly sought after true freshman coming in to nip at his heels.
Good luck Johnny at Rutgers.
