The Boston College women’s basketball team is now 6-0 after winning both of their games in the Hawk Classic this weekend. The Eagles defeated Loyola Maryland by a score of 73-47 on Saturday, and won the championship game against Rider by an impressive score of 112-61. This BC’s best opening to the season since 2010-2011, and the first time BC has scored 100+ points in a game since 12/2/10 against Penn State, when the Eagles scored 113 in a win over the Nittany Lions - the program record for most points scored in a game.

The Eagles had 38 rebounds in the victory over Loyola and shot over 50%. Emma Guy, who has been having a standout season for BC, led the Eagles with 9 rebounds and 15 points. Georgia Pineau had one of her best games all season, adding 12 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 blocks to BC’s total.

Freshman Marnelle Garraud led the charge against Rider, scoring 28 points to earn the Hawk Classic MVP title. Garraud had 38 points and 12 rebounds over the 2 games this weekend. Emma Guy and Taylor Ortlepp were named to the All-Tournament Team as well.

The Eagles return to action this Tuesday at 7 PM, when they take on Providence at BC. Tickets are cheap, so come out to Conte and support this winning team!
