Swimming and Fencing have big weekends

SWIMMING

Competing in the Terrier Invitational hosted by Boston University, the BC swim team set several new school records as the men’s side took first place while the women’s team finished in second for the weekend.

The new records set for BC were as follows:

Taylor Cortens: men’s 200-yard backstroke

Ashleigh Scott, Maura Grimes, Haley Dolan, Ali Kea: women’s 400-yard freestyle relay

Ashleigh Scott, Victoria Lin, Haley Dolan, Ali Kea: women’s 200-yard freestyle relay

Maura Grimes, Taylor Covington, Victoria Lin, Ali Kea: 400-yard medley relay

Maura Grimes: 100-yard backstroke

Maura Grimes: 200-yard backstroke

FENCING

Both the men’s and women’s fencing teams recorded perfect weekends while competing in the Northeast Fencing Conference Duals at Harvard University.

The men’s team went 5-0, knocking off teams from UNH, UMass, Brown, Sacred Heart, and BU while the women’s side turned in a perfect 7-0 weekend with wins over UNH, Wellesley, UMass, Brown, Smith, sacred Heart, and BU.

The Eagles are now off until December when they will compete in the Brandeis Invitational in Waltham.
