For the first time since 2015-16, Boston College women’s basketball is 4-0 to start the season. The Eagles picked up their 4th win of the 2018-19 season today against Houston, earning a 64-57 victory.
The Eagles recorded 44 rebounds in the game, but their victory was really due to shooting accuracy. The Eagles still have some major work to do in this regard, but they did better than Houston, making 38% of field goals to Houston’s 34%, 47% of 3 pointer to Houston’s 17%, and 60% of free throws to Houston’s 58%. As is clear from these numbers, 3-pointers are shaping up to be the bread and butter of this BC team (freshman Marnelle Garraud in particular is a 3 point phenom so far). The Eagles did allow 23 points off of turnovers today, which is a concerning return to last season’s form after really limiting turnovers in the first 3 games of this season.
Marnelle Garraud (17 points, 6 rebounds) and Emma Guy (16 points, 8 rebounds) led BC in today’s win. Garraud also led all players with 4 3-pointers.
