The Boston College women’s basketball team continues to show improvement and are 2-0 on the season after defeating St. Peter’s today. The Eagles, who won 89-57, have now scored 80+ in more than one game for the first time since the 2014-15 season.

The Eagles outscored the Peacocks in every quarter, and were fairly consistent throughout the game, scoring between 21 and 24 points in each period of play. BC outplayed St. Peter’s overall, but the game was won on rebounds - the Eagles had 62 (26 offensive and 36 defensive) rebounds to the Peacocks’ 33. BC is now rebounding 58.5 rebounds per game - after 2 games last year, the Eagles were averaging just 37 rebounds per game.

Tonight, BC was led by Emma Guy, who had an impressive 22 points and 8 rebounds. Georgia Pineau led the game with 12 rebounds and added 14 points to the score, while freshman Taylor Soule picked up 16 points. Freshman Makayla Dickens also had a phenomenal game, leading the team with 4 steals and adding 13 points and 8 rebounds.

The Eagles will need to work on some things, particularly free throw shooting (they shot at 51% today) if they want to be competitive in the ACC, but this team is fun to watch and playing their hearts out and that is showing in the final score so far.
