Boston College Lands In CFB Playoffs Ranking For First Time

NCAA Football: Miami at Boston College Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

The Boston College Eagles are in the College Football Playoff Rankings for the first time in the current era. The currently 24th ranked squad enters the 2018 rankings at number 22 just behind the NC State Wolfpack.

Other teams that Boston College have still on the schedule are the #19 Syracuse Orangemen, and #2 Clemson Tigers. Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide of course came in at #1. The UConn Huskies did not make the first rankings.

Obviously there is still a lot of work for this team, but this is exciting to see and shows where BC is currently in terms of the football landscape. A win over Virginia Tech on Saturday should probably help to get them in the high teens next week, and could help make a case for College Gameday to come to the Heights. Of course they have to take care of the Hokies on the road, not a small task.

Congratulations to the Eagles on getting on the list!
