Ky Bowman is already garnering national recognition. BC’s junior guard was named to the Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year preseason watch list today. The Bob Cousy Award recognizes the top NCAA point guard each season The watch list, comprised of the nation’s top twenty college point guards, was announced at the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield earlier today. Bowman is joined on the list by other ACC point guards Tre Jones of Duke, Justin Robinson of Virginia Tech, and Ty Jerome of Virginia.
Bowman was an all-ACC honorable mention last season, as well as all-ACC Tournament second team. He led the Eagles in minutes played in the 2017-2018 season, averaging 38.2 minutes per game. He averaged 17.9 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per game. He led the team with 165 assists and 51 steals.
The watch list will be narrowed down to ten candidates in February, and five finalists will be announced in March. Bowman and the Eagles will open the season Nov. 6 in Conte Forum vs. Milwaukee.
