BC’s BEST CHANCE TO WIN
The is the first game of the season for both clubs so it will be interesting to see how each side preforms. For the Eagles, I am hoping to see a strong showing from last year’s Freshman on the attack front, especially Logan Hutsko, Jacob Tortora and Christopher Grando. With a year of experience under their belts, I expect them to come out and perform well against a Wisconsin team that struggled last season finishing 14-19-3 and was a first round exit against Michigan in the Big Ten Playoffs.
These two teams met only once last season with the Badgers getting the edge on the Eagles with a score of 5-2. The Eagles were able to outshoot Wisconsin (31-22), but our defensive efforts proved rather lackluster with Joseph Woll only saving 17 of those shots. Furthermore, Wisconsin was able to skate through our zone with ease and capitalize on face-offs in BC territory. It also did not help that we were called for eight penalities that made for playing 16 minutes shorthanded.
Overall, I expect a grudge match in the Midwest with both teams wiping off some of the rust on their skates as they get back into the college hockey mindset. I predict a 1-1 tie in the first of a two game series.
