Previewing and Predicting Boston College Men’s Basketball vs. North Carolina

Can the Eagles win in Chapel Hill?

The Eagles take on the #20 North Carolina Tar Heels in Chapel Hill on Tuesday night.

Keys to the Game

The biggest key to this game will be focus and energy. The Tar Heels are hoping to use BC stop a two game losing streak, which included a 49-point effort against Virginia. UNC is still a formidable team and Chapel Hill is no easy place to win, but if the Tar Heels look past BC on their schedule they will be in trouble. The defending national champs rank 3rd in the nation in rebounding and have a dynamic pair of scorers in Joel Berry II (18 PPG) and Luke Maye (17 PPG). BC needs to find ways to get the guards their shots and not overly rely on jumpers from Mitchell and Popovic like they did in the first half of the Wake game. Robinson and Bowman should have some extra fuel playing against a program that passed them over in their own backyard, but the younger players will need to keep their composure in a hostile environment and stay focused on making the right plays.

Predictions

Matt: 72-68 BC

Katie: 81-76 UNC

Toppin: 76-75 BC; BC proves it’s legit behind big games by its North Carolina born duo
