After a 75-50 loss to Duke tonight, the Boston College women’s basketball teams is now on a 5 game losing streak. The Eagles, who are 1-6 in the ACC, have not won a game since January 5 when they beat UNC.

The Eagles got off to a hot start tonight, but a 19-3 run by Duke at the end of the first quarter was ultimately too much for BC to overcome. As usual, turnovers and a lack of team depth were BC’s biggest downfalls. The Eagles committed 23 turnovers in tonight’s game and now average 17.1 turnovers per game. Off the bench, BC had only 8 points while Duke’s bench players added 19.

The Eagles were led by Emma Guy, who picked up her fourth double-double of the year with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Taylor Ortlepp added 11 points for BC, including a trio of 3 pointers. One major point of concern tonight was that Milan Bolden-Morris, who has arguably been BC’s best player this season, went 0-for-6 and grabbed only 2 rebounds.

The Eagles will have a chance to try to turn things around soon, as they face Syracuse at Conte Forum on Sunday.
