The NHL announced tonight that Brian Boyle has been added to the 2018 NHL All-Star Game roster, where he will replace an injured Taylor Hall.
Boyle, who currently plays for the New Jersey Devils, has been at the top of his game after missing the beginning of the season for cancer treatment. Boyle has 17 points over 37 games this season and is fourth on the team with 11 goals.
This is Boyle’s 11th season in the pros and his first NHL All-Star Game. He has previously played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Tampa Bay Lightning, the New York Rangers, and the Los Angeles Kings.
Boyle will be 1 of 3 former Eagles participating in this weekend’s festivities. Johnny Gaudreau (Calgary Flames) and Noah Hanifin (Carolina Hurricanes) will also be playing in the All-Star Game.
The All-Star Game will take play on Sunday, January 28 at 3:30 PM. The game, which will be played in Tampa Bay, will air on NBC.
