The Boston College women’s basketball team continues to struggle this season, dropping to 1-5 in ACC play after today’s loss to Miami. The Eagles were down 40-20 at halftime and ended up losing 65-43.
As always, turnovers were a big part of the story in BC’s loss. The Eagles committed 20 turnovers, resulting in 22 points for Miami. Miami also recorded an impressive 10 steals and picked up 23 points from bench players. For comparison’s sake, the Eagles only received 8 points from bench players.
The Eagles were led by Georgia Pineau, who had 16 points and 8 rebounds. Fellow sophomore Emma Guy also recorded 8 rebounds for the Eagles.
At this point, there is not much to be say that has not already been said. This team has some fairly talented players, but the same simple mistakes are made game after game. BC also lacks the depth of other ACC teams, making it nearly impossible for the Eagles to compete. It is clear that both recruiting and coaching need to improve if BC wants to get back to where the team was under Coach Cathy Inglese.
