On Sunday, the Boston College women’s basketball team fell to Notre Dame by a score of 89-60. The nearly 30 point loss to the #2 team in the country was not fun to watch, but the outcome wasn’t surprising to anybody that follows NCAA WBB.
As usual, freshman Milan Bolden-Morris led the team in scoring. She picked up 17 points, 15 of which were due to a career high 5 3-pointers. Bolden-Morris is a consistent bright spot for this struggling BC team - with a little bit of conditioning work she should grow into a force to be reckoned with.
Unsurprisingly, rebounding and turnovers were huge problems for the Eagles against the Fighting Irish. BC was out-rebounded by an astounding ratio of 54-22, and double the turnovers that Notre Dame did (20 vs. 10).
Although this loss was expected, it feels like another nail in the coffin for the coaching staff as rumors continue to swirl about whether or not Martin Jarmond will be looking for a new WBB head coach at the conclusion of the season.
