Boston College Men’s Soccer Falls to Virginia Tech

Boston College men’s soccer came up just short in its latest contest, this time falling to Virginia Tech. Despite (yet again) outshooting their opponents, the Eagles were unable to cross the goal line and fell to the Hokies 1-0. In the second half alone, Boston College held a 9-1 advantage on corner kicks and a 9-5 advantage on shot, clearly having the better of play for the second half.

While the Eagles have hit a recent snag, some of that can be attributed to injuries. They have continuously played without their best defensive backline as tonight Younes Boudadi and Len Zeugner were both out due to injury.

Boston College soccer will return to the pitch on Friday, October 6 in Charlottesville, Virginia against the host Cavaliers, who are ranked number 10 in the country. With only six games remaining, the Eagles must improve their standing in the ACC if they have any chance of playing in the ACC tournament or the NCAA tournament.
