The Boston College women’s soccer team played a scoreless game with Virginia Tech today, playing to a 0-0 draw despite outshooting the Hokies. The two teams played two overtimes, but neither was able to get anything past the goalies.
The Eagles had some great attempts, but Virginia Tech’s goal saved all 11 shots on goal that she faced. BC’s Alexis Bryant made 4 saves in the game for her sixth shutout of the season, a career high (she has 9 total career shutouts). Five of these shutouts have occurred over the past 6 games.
Jenna Bike and Sam Coffey led BC in shots with 5, and Bike led with 3 shots on goal. Coffey, a freshman, has started every game this season and is already one of BC’s best offensive players.
The Eagles return to action next Friday when they will head to Florida to play FSU. Last season, BC earned a 2-1 upset victory against FSU.
