BC’s solid three quarters of play at Death Valley was enough to impress handicappers and gamblers alike. The Eagles opened as an 8 point favorite over Central Michigan and that line has jumped to 9 in under 24 hours. Some of that might have to do with some wiseguys that cashed tickets on BC between +32 and +34.5 last weekend.
The 9 point spread is one of the highest numbers that BC has been favored as in the last several years. If you throw out FCS opponents, the number shrinks even smaller. Over the last three years, BC has been favored by 9 or more points against:
-17 at UMass in 2014
-14 at Wake Forest 2014
-11 vs Syracuse 2014
-27 vs Maine 2015
-44 vs Howard in 2015
-16 at UMass in 2016
-34 vs Wagner in 2016
-18 vs Buffalo 2016
In all 8 games BC won outright, and in 5-of-8 games BC covered the spread.
